GSM-EAGLE™
- EAGLE is an acronym for Electronic Access control using Gsm Lock Enabling.
How does the GSM EAGLE work?
Inside the system is a mobile phone connected to the GSM networks via a SIM card. When a SIM card is inserted into the GSM EAGLE, it then has a phone number which can be used to control it.
When a call arrives, the EAGLE is designed to drop the call on the first ring and then make a decision as to whether the switch the onboard relays.
Depending how the GSM EAGLE is configured, a number of things will happen. If the number that just 'called' is know, a relay pulse is generated to allow gates, doors and barriers to be opened.
If the GSM EAGLE is set to 'door' mode, the incoming call is ignored and the unit will only respond to text messaging in order to give security of garage and shutter doors.

Does it cost to use the GSM EAGLE?
If the GSM EAGLE is only taking calls and not sending reports, it costs nothing to use it. No call is ever answered and and no texts messages are sent, therefore completly FREE to use.
If notification texts are being sent, the rates will depend on the network SIM card you choose.
Will the GSM EAGLE tell me someone has arrived home?
Yes, the GSM EAGLE is designed to send a notify text message to an administrators numbers to inform them that they have just called the unit.
How many relays does the GSM EAGLE have?
The GSM EAGLE has two onboard relays which can be set in a number of ways to suit your requirements.
Are the relays timed?
Yes, by default the relays are pulsed for 0.5 seconds. This can be increased to 64,000 seconds (18 Hours). Should a longer or more accurate time period be needed, an external timer can be used and the GSM EAGLE used to start the timer.
What can be controlled with an EAGLE?
- Gates
- Barriers
- Turnstiles
- Road Blocks
- Doors
- Shutter Doors
- Garage Doors
- Lighting
- Heating
- Air Conditioning
- Hardware resets
And much more... the limit is your imagination.
Is the GSM EAGLE easy to install?
Very, the GSM EAGLE needs a power supply from 10 to 36 volts AC or DC. This means most 'host' equipment can provide auxillary power to the GSM EAGLE or a 12volt DC adaptor can be used.
Wiring is simply 2 power leads, and then the relays and inputs as required.
A standard gate or barrier installation needs four wires, 2 for power supply from the AUX or 24AC power supply and then 2 other wires connected to the 'Common' and 'Open Timed' circuit.
